You lied to us.

You told us humans were noble and special.

You promised us we rose above our vileness.

You said our ideals would lead the Universe.

 

Like fools we studied science, only to be reviled.

Like slaves we built a world, only for others.

Like a virus we destroyed our host, our mother.

We were not wise. 

We were not intelligent.

We were not compassionate.

We were illogical.
